Membership
Become a member of the oldest and largest association of Asian Pacific American (APA) attorneys
in the Washington, DC area.
APABA-DC’s membership includes about 500 lawyers, law professors, law students, and other interested individuals. Membership in APABA-DC automatically includes membership in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), which represents over 40,000 APA attorneys nationwide through its local affiliates, including APABA-DC. APABA-DC members receive regular notification of news, events, and job postings, access to our online membership directory, and discounted rates for APABA-DC events and CLE courses, as well as for the annual NAPABA National and Southeast Regional conferences.
Benefits of Membership in APABA-DC
- A few of the benefits of APABA-DC membership you will receive are:Member Priority and Discounts. As a member, you will be entitled to priority over non-members if we need to limit attendance at an event. In addition, we offer our members discounted or free admission to certain events, such as our continuing legal education programs and our installation dinner.
- Weekly Announcements. Members receive by e-mail a weekly announcement of events and job postings. Members are welcome to submit an announcement of significant events, such as a publication, job promotion, candidacy for an elected position, etc. If you do not receive our weekly announcement within the next two weeks, please contact our Vice President for Communications, Mia Haessly, by emailing communications@apaba-dc.org.
- NAPABA Membership. Membership in APABA-DC automatically includes membership in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), which represents over 40,000 Asian Pacific American attorneys nationwide. APABA-DC members also qualify for discounted registration fees for the annual NAPABA national convention.
Annual Dues:
• Private Firm/Corporate Counsel: $55.00
• Law Students/LLM Students: $20.00
• Government/Public Interest/Solo/All Others: $40.00
The APABA-DC membership year is January 1st through December 31st.
