     Attorney Mentoring Program

APABA-DC’s Attorney Mentoring Program is organized by its Practicing Attorneys Resource (PAR) Committee.  The program serves as an avenue for attorney members to interact with one another on an individual basis, for an informal exchange of career ideas and experiences.  The program matches newer attorneys (“mentees”) with more senior attorneys (“mentors”) and provides opportunities for them to meet periodically throughout the year.  Mentors and mentees are also encouraged to communicate outside the context of these organized events, to extract the greatest mutual benefit from the mentor-mentee relationship.  The goal of the program is ultimately to help participating attorneys form potentially lasting relationships that will foster both personal and professional growth.

Mentor and mentee applications are available every Fall.  Mentors and mentees are assigned based on the number of individuals who submit applications each year.  We make every effort to match mentors and mentees with similar interests.  While the expected commitment is one year, in many cases, the mentor-mentee relationship may continue beyond the program timeframe.  The program is open to all APABA-DC members.

If you have any questions about the program, please contact Cathy Chen and Taron Murakami, co-chairs of the PAR Committee, at par@apaba-dc.org.
