      <title>APABA-DC Mentorship Circles (Law Firm) (22 Apr 2026)</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;APABA-DC is excited to announce the return of its mentorship circles program.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt; This program brings together attorneys at different stages of their careers and at different organizations to broaden their network, make valuable connections, and share insight about navigating their particular area of the legal industry. &lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;This year, APABA-DC will organize the mentorship circles by employer type, in that we will have one set of circles for attorneys at law firms, one set of circles for in-house attorneys, and one set of circles for government attorneys.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt; The kickoff event for the law firm circles will be on April 22, while the kickoff event for the in-house, government, and public interest circles will be on April 23.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;The events will take place at a location downtown, to be determined once initial registrations are complete.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt; Participation is free of charge.&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <title>APABA DC Book Club (22 Apr 2026)</title>

  &lt;p align="justify" style="margin-top: 16px; margin-bottom: 16px;"&gt;&lt;font face="arial, sans-serif" color="#000000"&gt;Join APABA-DC&amp;nbsp;Book Club&amp;nbsp;in April to discuss The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan, which follows the intertwined lives of a mother, Lucia, and her daughter, Violet, across two continents and several decades, from the fall of imperial China through the rise of the Republic and into the era of WWII.&lt;span style="text-align: start;"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="text-align: start;"&gt;The book explores themes of mother-daughter relationships, inherited trauma, identity, and love, set against the backdrop of Shanghai's courtesan houses and the lives of "Shanghailanders."&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
  &lt;br&gt;
  We will meet at 6:00pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in the Petworth neighborhood. The exact location will be shared with those who RSVP here.&amp;nbsp; First drink and appetizers on us. We hope you can join us for a heartfelt discussion!&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
