Leaders Among Us

The Leaders Among Us dinner series is one of the most popular events for APABA-DC in-house members and sponsoring law firms and legal providers. This is a sponsored dinner at a DMV restaurant for the Committee to recognize the achievements of an AAPI attorney who has succeeded to the highest ranks of in-house, while fostering community amongst in-house counsel in the DMV. After an introduction of the sponsor attendees, the “Leader Among Us” honoree will then provide remarks regarding leadership, success, sponsorship or any other career advice or topic of interest to them.  This event is well-attended averaging 30-40 local in-house counsel in addition to sponsor attendees, and presents an excellent opportunity for a sponsor to meet in-house counsel at various local companies. In prior years, this event has featured some of the most prominent AAPI general counsels in our community.

Past honorees include:

Curtis Lu, GC of FTI Consulting
Parkin Lee, GC of The Rockefeller Group
Patricia Lee, GC of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
Atul Saran, GC of Emergent Biosolutions
Sumeet Seam, GC of Save the Children
Angeline G. Chen, GC of Siemens Government Technologies
Jannie Lau, GC of Interdigital
Lakshmi Williams, GC of North America Transurban
Weili Cheng, GC of Ritz-Carlton
Javade Chaudhri, former EVP, GC and COO for Sempra Energy
Don Liu, then-GC of Xerox
Larry Tu, then-GC of Dell
Michael Wu, then-GC of Rosetta Stone
