Please join us for a discussion on the recent report authored by Miranda Li, Philip Yao, and CA Supreme Court Justice Goodwin Liu, which follows a 2017 study of Asian Americans in the legal profession, which found that the number of Asian American lawyers in the United States grew from 20,000 in 2000 to more than 50,000 in 2015. That study also noted a dearth of Asian Americans on state and federal benches, as well as high rates of associate attrition at law firms and low ratios of Asian American partners.
We will discuss key new takeaways from the most recent report, the impact of the pandemic on the profession, and thoughts and insights about the current state - and future prospects -- of Asian Americans in the law.
