Fireside Chat with Senator Mazie Hirono from Hawaii

APABA-DC is pleased to host a virtual conversation with Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii about current affairs and her own experiences on the evening of Thursday, July 30th. Senator Hirono has been serving as a Senator from Hawaii since 2013. She has dedicated much of her professional life to public service, having served as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, Hawaii's lieutenant governor, and a member of the US House of Representatives for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district before being elected to the U.S. Senate. She is the first elected female senator from Hawaii, the first Asian-American woman elected to the Senate, and the first U.S. senator born in Japan. She currently is a member of the Senate Committees on the Judiciary, Energy and Natural Resources, Veterans' Affairs, among others.
