The Board of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area, Inc. (APABA-DC) invites you to support our virtual kickoff to celebrate our 40th year of serving the Asian Pacific American (APA) legal community in DC

APABA-DC is the oldest and largest voluntary bar association for APA attorneys, judges, law professors, and other members of the legal profession in the DC area.  We aim to serve our community by promoting the professional growth and advancement of our members, shedding light on issues affecting the APA legal community in the Washington, D.C. area, and enabling our members to work collaboratively with other leaders to serve the community at large.

Since the onset of the pandemic, we have been extremely active to help effectuate these goals and address pressing issues in our communities.  We have pushed locally and nationally to call out anti-Asian hate incidents, initiated calls to address racial injustice, and made resources available to our members on this important topic.  We have also urged our profession to remain focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion as it faces significant challenges stemming from the pandemic.

This celebration is particularly significant because it will commemorate the association’s four decades of service.  It will include a fireside chat with David Lat, founding editor of Above the Law and Managing Director at Lateral Link, and the presentation of this year’s Pioneer, Rising Star, Membership Appreciation, and Community Service Awards.  Also, similar to annual in-person galas in prior years, we plan to recognize outstanding members’ achievements, install the members of next year’s APABA-DC Board, and bring together our community.  We anticipate that over a hundred APA and other judges, government officials, and private practice, in-house, and military attorneys will join us for the kickoff.

The kickoff offers a unique opportunity for leaders in the public and private sectors of the law to support diversity, equity, and inclusion, and join in the important work that APABA-DC undertakes for APAs in the legal community and the greater Washington, D.C. area.  We are proud to offer opportunities to underwrite a portion of our kickoff event and upcoming marquee programming, or to otherwise sponsor our kickoff.  We would be honored to have your support.

APABA-DC is an affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
