VOLUNTEER / PRO BONO OPPORTUNITY THROUGH THE D.C. BAR
The D.C. Bar holds Advice & Referral Clinics throughout the year. The next one will be held on Saturday, July 26th, and the D.C. Bar is looking for more volunteers!
This clinic offers a vital service, allowing individuals without their own lawyers to discuss civil legal problems with volunteer attorneys. Areas of assistance are bankruptcy/debt collection, civil rights, consumer, employment, family, healthcare, housing, personal injury, probate, public benefits, and tax. Coordinators from law schools, firms, or individual attorneys from the private sector (or D.C. government) can register here for upcoming clinic dates. (Federal government attorneys and paralegals should register through their respective organizations, and law students must register via their school's pro bono coordinator).
Volunteer lawyers do not require expertise in any particular field as the D.C. Bar provides expert mentors who are present to advise through cases during each clinic. APABA-DC members are encouraged to self-register for this specific clinic.
