APABA-DC Announces the 2024-2025 Board's Elected Officers

Wenxi Li wins as APABA-DC's President-Elect
The new board to be installed at 2024 APABA-DC Gala on October 15

Washington, D.C. – The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area (APABA-DC) today announced the election of eight officers to its 2024-2025 Board of Directors.

  • President-Elect:  Wenxi Li
  • VP for Communications:  Alicia Loh
  • VP for Programs:  Judy Bao
  • VP for Community Affairs:  William Xu
  • VP for Education:  David Yin
  • VP for Membership:  Evelyn Riley
  • Secretary:  Charles Kuo
  • Treasurer:  Samantha Guo

Wenxi Li, general counsel and chief administrative officer for MarkLogic Corporation, has been elected president-elect of APABA-DC for the 2023-2024 term. She will serve in that position for one year starting August 1st before becoming president for the 2025-2025 term. With Li’s election, incumbent President-Elect Angeline Chen, general counsel and chief administrative officer for Progress Federal Solutions, Inc. (formerly known as MarkLogic Corporation), will become APABA-DC's president.

Li currently serves as in-house counsel for a medical device manufacturer and has experience providing commercial and strategic advice for matters focused on U.S. healthcare regulatory compliance, digital health, data privacy, AI, and telemedicine. Before going in-house, Li was an associate at DLA Piper and Epstein, Becker & Green P.C. Li holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. from Hamilton College. She has been involved with APABA-DC in various elected capacities and served on the Board of Directors of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association Education Fund (AEF) from 2016-2018.

Also elected to one-year terms were, as vice president for communications, Alicia Loh; as vice president for communications; Judy Bao as vice president for programs; William Xu as vice president for community affairs; David Yin as vice president of education; Evelyn Riley as vice president for membership; Charles Kuo as secretary; and Samantha Guo as treasurer.

All newly elected officers, together with all appointed members of the 2024-2025 board of directors, will be installed at 2024 APABA-DC Annual Gala and Silent Auction to be held on October 15, 2024 at the Intercontinental Washington D.C. at the Wharf.

APABA-DC is a voluntary bar association of Asian Pacific American (APA) attorneys, judges, law professors, and other members of the legal profession in the nation's capital region. Founded in 1981, APABA-DC has served our community by promoting the professional growth and advancement of our members, cultivating an understanding of the issues facing the APA community, and enabling our members to collaborate with other leaders in the Washington, D.C. community at large.
